Abstract Dosimetry models for the estimation of particle deposition in human respiratory tract (RT) conjunction with clearance transport are vital components to relate exposure internal dose a quantitative manner. The current work highlights knowledge and modelling approaches on translocation body an effort determine health risks respect different physicochemical properties physiology parameters. These include breathing conditions, variability geometry RT, chemical composition size deposits. Different dosimetry have been studied including empirical formulations, one-dimensional flow computational fluid dynamic methods (CFD). importance realistic hygroscopicity has also investigated. A better understanding relationship between effects inhaled may be elaborated using tools. future required approach is combine physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) simulate cumulative particle-bound species organs tissues body.
